664. Silver lining

In the soft light of the early evening I see your eyes sparkle like they never did before
Pouring rain outside, warm glow inside
I never wanted you more

My hand touches the velvet fabric of your couch
While sending the image to my brain this is your skin
For a split second I believe in what I am feeling
That it's not just a dream I am playing a role in

Your eyes stare in mine silver lined and crystal clear
Your voice sounds like cherry pie almond ice
The sound of it so dear

Arms like an embracing blanket powerful and protective
Take me on a safe journey into the wild
Everybody but me would think of this as rejective

This love is not supposed to exist
But despite all the earthly laws it will never fade
It will always flourish and resist
